Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me is the star’s new documentary that will soon be premiering on Apple TV+ and is set to offer a raw and vulnerable insight into her private world.
In the official 30-second trailer for the highly-anticipated Apple Original feature film, which will hit the streaming service on November 4, a montage of short clips shows the 30-year-old former child star breaking down into tears while navigating life as one of the most recognizable women in the world.
The documentary spans six years of Selena’s life—a period in which she endured a very public breakup with singer Justin Bieber, underwent a kidney transplant due to Lupus, and spoke candidly about her struggles with mental health. As someone who has sold 210 million singles worldwide and has achieved critical acclaim for her series Only Murders in the Building, her journey as a singing and acting superstar is also followed over the years.
“A six-year labour of love, a breakthrough, every breathe,” reads the short synopsis of the documentary, which has been directed and produced by Alek Keshishian, who directed the critically acclaimed film Madonna: Truth or Dare.
When the film was first announced on September 8, Apple TV + teased: “After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness. This uniquely raw and intimate documentary spans her six-year journey into a new light.”
Selena’s fans are also keen on learning more about the star’s life and are welcoming her new doc with open arms. “Just crying with the first trailer of #mymindandme Selena will be so sincere in this documentary we will finally know what she went through,” one person wrote.
